Hey there, and thanks for stopping by.
Today we will be looking at the question of being Chul Soon on steroids or natural.
Those of you familiar with Chul’s physique will know how awesome the guy looks every time he steps on stage.
He looks so awesome, however, that people are very quick to yell accusations of steroid use at him.
As you know, getting swollen takes years of hard work and dedication.
And even then, sometimes that alone isn’t enough.
You need to live in the gym.
But that’s just one piece of the puzzle.
If your diet isn’t on point.
Then there’s just no point in even trying if we’re being honest.
You can’t out-train a bad diet.
No matter how many bicep curls you perform.
But what about with the help of steroids?
Well, steroids help you to build muscle and recover.
There’s no denying that.
But you still need to put the work in.
It doesn’t matter how many steroids you inject into your butt cheek each week.
If your diet sucks and your training are inconsistent.
Then you honestly may as well just save your time.
Chul Soon is a guy that clearly knows how to lift weights and how to eat to grow.
But is that all he does to grow?
Let’s find out as we answer the question of is Chul Soon natural or not.

Before we go any further.
We need to get the legal stuff out of the way first.
We are in no way associated with Chul Soon.
And we certainly have no proof that he is, or is not, using anabolic steroids.
We have no access to his medical records or his personal details.
And we certainly have no proof of steroid use on Chul’s part.
The content of this article is based purely on speculation on our part and should not be considered as fact.
We do not condone the use of steroids.
But at the same time.
We don’t judge those that use them.
The fact is that people have always used them for bodybuilding purposes.
And people always will use them for bodybuilding purposes.
Whether Chul Soon is one of those people, however, remains to be seen.
Chul Soon, or Hwang Chul Soon, is a Korean bodybuilder that is one of the most exciting prospects to hit the stage in recent years.
He is a former Musclemania Universe ‘Natural’ pro champion and has won countless other bodybuilding accolades in his time.
Not only does he compete, but he also takes part in fitness photoshoots for supplements and magazines.
And has even appeared in several ads and TV shows in his home country of South Korea.
Born back in 1983, he is aged just 36 and he already has a very impressive resume under his belt.
Chul Soon is not your usual, generic, all-business bodybuilder.
He is fun, outgoing, and has a great personality that fans adore.
He is a very keen and talented breakdancer and he actually incorporates many breakdancing moves into his routines when he is on stage competing.
Needless to say, fans and judges alike love his routines.
Though he also has an amazing physique, which always helps.
Chul is sometimes known as the ‘Asian Arnold’ because his physique is so similar to a prime Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The only flaw, if you can call it that.
Is that the genetically has very wide hips and obliques.
This creates the illusion of his waist being bigger than it actually is.
Despite him competing at around 4% body fat and being ripped to shreds.
Chul is a big dude and when he isn’t competing.
He is working as a sponsored athlete, a fitness model, or a personal trainer.
He stands at 5ft 10 and weighs in at 225 pounds off-season.
And 215 pounds when he is dieting down.
Growing up in Korea, Chul isn’t your stereotypical jock like a lot of bodybuilders and fitness competitors these days.
Most bodybuilders and physique or classic division bodybuilders went through high school as pretty big and athletic jocks that were interested in football, wrestling, and such like.
Normally they either suffered an injury and had to pursue another sport, I.E bodybuilding.
Or they fell in love with bodybuilding while training.
Chul’s background, however, is a bit different.
You see, as he was growing up.
Chul was very shy and self-conscious about his weight.
He wasn’t overweight, however, in fact, it was the opposite.
He was very scrawny and skinny.
And he would sometimes get picked on because of his small size.
He also admits that he didn’t feel confident around the ladies.
At around 5ft 9 or 5ft 10, he was average height.
But he weighed less than the average woman several inches shorter than him.
He was just 125 pounds soaking wet and he wasn’t happy with his body.
Rather than complain and dwell on it.
However, he decided to do something about it.
He started upping his calories, reading bodybuilding magazines and fitness blogs, and lifting weights several times per week.
Like most youngsters, his routine absolutely sucked and he was doing far too much of the same stuff.
He would curl and bench pretty much every day, for hours on end.
He noticed some improvements,
But nothing terribly amazing.
He was also performing 3000 stomach crunches each day.
The volume of his routine was so high that he was actually burning off more calories.
So he was losing weight instead of gaining it.
He looked defined, but he was even smaller than before.
As he grew older, he read the right magazines and forums and decided to approach his training seriously.
He created a structured diet and training routine and trained like a professional would advise.
For the next three years.
He grew and grew and now his body had changed drastically.
He was no longer a scrawny youngster.
He was now a ripped and muscular young man.
He got a job at a gym as a personal trainer where not only could he work out at his leisure.
But he could also train others in the process.
In 2009 he debuted on stage at a Musclemania contest and took 2nd place.
This was a very impressive first showing.
And one year later he took first.
He dominated the stage since then and in 2016 he won the Musclemania Universe Natural Pro contest.
We thought that might grab your attention.
Yes, Chul Soon did indeed win the Musclemania Universe Natural Pro contest a couple of years back.
Besides Ulisses Jr.
So, as he won a natural contest, surely that proves he’s natural, right?
After all, natural shows are drug tested?
Surely the question of being Chul Soon natural or taking steroids has been answered already.
So we can all go home and eat our chicken, rice, and broccoli out of a Tupperware?
Well, not so fast.
You see, although he is a ‘natural’ champion and is drug tested.
The Musclemania organization’s drug testing policy is pretty shambolic if we’re being honest.
You see if you check their website.
You’ll see that it states that immediately following a show, the top 5 bodybuilders must submit a mandatory urine sample.
If any athletes are found to have banned substances in their urine.
They will face a 2-year suspension from competing.
2 years is a long time when you’re on the form.
So surely that’s a big deterrent?
Well, the problem here is that it states that bodybuilders should submit a urine sample after competing.
Basically, they know when they will be tested.
Therefore, they can easily use steroids for several months in the run-up to a show and can end a cycle and PCT before competing.
So that the substances are not in their systems.
The steroids won’t be in their system.
But they will still have been able to maintain the muscle and condition they built.
Many experts agree that if Musclemania wants to be taken seriously as a natural organization.
They should conduct mandatory RANDOM drug tests on bodybuilders at any time.
Now we’ll look at whether we think Chul Soon is on steroids or natural.
As we look at several pieces of evidence, both for, and against, potential steroid use on his part.
If you look at Chul you’ll see that he literally looks photoshopped.
And we’re not even exaggerating here.
We’re not sure if he has an unusually small head.
Or if his body is just so freakishly big.
But he literally looks as if he has been photoshopped because he is so big.
At 5ft 10 and weighing 225 pounds.
He’s not a small guy.
In fact, he is a very big guy at this weight is all muscle.
Some would argue that gaining that amount of muscle is just one step too far, although, in theory, it is possible.
It could be that Chul just eats well and trains like a beast and has the genetics needed to build a huge amount of muscle.
But to look that freakish when natural
Well, it’s a little suspicious, to say the least.
If you look at Chul’s website, you’ll see that he claims to be natural.
Which is a pretty bold claim to make if he isn’t.
Chul has also passed several drug tests.
Although as we looked at, in theory, they could easily be manipulated.
It is worth noting, however, that just because the tests can be manipulated.
This doesn’t mean that they have been manipulated by Chul.
The simple fact is that he has passed countless drug tests.
On a certain popular bodybuilding forum, there was even a supposed drug test analysis of Chul’s.
Which did indeed read as negative for banned substances?
In an age where crystal clear, super HD digital technology is seemingly everywhere.
However, the report did look more pixelated than the original Doom game back in the early 90s.
One effective way of telling whether or not an athlete could be using steroids or not is to look at any transformations they may have undergone.
Chul soon packed with a huge amount of muscle between 2012 and 2014.
He was still big around 2010 – 2012, but in 2014 he looked to have gained a good 40 pounds of muscle.
If, not more.
He looked huge and his delts and chest.
in particular, looked to have gained a lot of mass.
It was this transformation.
In fact, that earned him the nickname of the Asian Arnold.
Some people that train well and eat right fail to gain that amount of muscle in a lifetime.
Yet Chul apparently did so naturally.
In just a couple of years.
For many, this was the icing on the protein cake and proved.
In their minds at least.
That Chul was not natty as he claimed.
One of the reasons why steroid user’s delts become so huge when they start using gear and training is because these body parts carry the most androgen receptors.
Chul’s shoulders blew up when he transformed his body.
And his face apparently changed shape as well.
Which is another sign of potential steroid use!
Based on the evidence listed above, and general common sense.
We believe that Chul Soon is not natural and that he is using gear or has used the gear.
He may have passed drug tests.
But he just looks too freakishly big for us to believe his claims of natty.
We would guess he was also running something pretty strong.
Perhaps something along the lines of Tren, Test-E, Primobolan, and HGH.
