Hi there, fellow gym enthusiasts, and thank you for stopping by.
In today’s article, we’re going to be taking a look at what is Clomid PCT?
Like it or not, but over the last decade or so.
There has been a sudden rise in the number of young adult males using anabolic-androgenic steroids.
Also known as AAS, for performance and physique enhancing purposes.
Building muscle mass is one of the toughest natural processes in the world, which is why people often turn to steroids.
Steroids enable you to build muscle at an accelerated pace.
With the added bonus of promoting fat loss, improving athletic performance, boosting strength and power, and much more besides.
In fact, there’s not a lot that steroids can’t do.
Best of all is the fact that there are steroids out there to serve a whole multitude of different purposes.
Some steroids will pack crazy amounts of muscle mass onto your frame.
Whereas other steroids will allow you to burn fat.
Some speed up recovery, some boost strength, and some simply give you more energy.
No matter which steroids you choose to put into your body, however, whether oral or injectable, you should always, always run a course of PCT (post cycle therapy) at the end of your cycle.
As we’re answering the question of what is Clomid?
We will today be focussing on Clomid in a bid to help you understand much more about this drug.

Before we look at what is Clomid we must first talk to you about the dangers of steroids.
PCT is designed to help restore your body back to normal after a steroid cycle and to help minimize the ill-effects of anabolic steroid use, but it doesn’t work miracles.
Steroids have been fatal in the past, they will, unfortunately, prove fatal in the future, and they promote a wide range of very serious side effects.
We would never recommend nor condone steroid use, but we aren’t here to pass judgment either.
What Is Clomid PCT?
Clomid is one of two incredibly popular drugs using in PCT after a steroid cycle has ended.
The other drug is Nolvadex, which we will be looking at another time in a separate article about Clomid Vs Nolvadex, so stay tuned for that.
Clomid is the drug we’re discussing today, however, so let’s find out what it is.
Clomid is actually a brand name for a drug that is officially known as Clomiphene Citrate.
Primarily this drug is administered orally and is used to treat fertility issues in women that are struggling to become pregnant.
Despite this, however, men also use the drug, though they use it primarily as a form of post cycle therapy after ending a steroid cycle.
Basically, the drug serves as a synthetic form of estrogen.
Steroids serve as synthetic forms of testosterone such as test suspension, so Clomid is the exact polar opposite.
If a female finds that she is experiencing low ovulation rates, Clomid will be prescribed.
The drug is FDA approved, though again, this is when it is used to treat infertility issues in women.
Why Do Men Use Clomid?
So, as men obviously cannot fall pregnant themselves, why would they need to use a drug which was created specifically to help women fall pregnant and to conceive a child?
Well, there are actually a number of reasons why, though primarily it is bodybuilders that use it.
Bodybuilders use it after finishing up an anabolic androgenic steroid cycle.
You see, as we mentioned earlier, steroids cause a wide range of side effects in users of all shapes and sizes.
One of the most common side effects of steroid use, however, is the natural suppression of testosterone production.
In some instances, a man’s testosterone production shuts down entirely after running a steroid cycle.
As he is off steroids at the end of his cycle, as the steroids are used up, testosterone levels begin to decline more and more.
Eventually, once it has all been used up if testosterone production has been shut down, that’s it for the test in the body, which can have very serious effects.
Clomid, when consumed, stimulates the hypothalamus in the brain, which then stimulates the pituitary gland into secreting more gonadotropins.
Which are follicle-stimulating hormones, of FSH for short;
FSH then gets to work in the testes, by encouraging them to once again go back to producing more testosterone.
It does this by blocking estrogen from interacting with your pituitary gland.
Estrogen suppresses Luteinizing Hormone production, and FSH production, which means that less testosterone can be produced.
Men can even be prescribed Clomid by a doctor, especially if they have suffered an injury to the testes, they are obese, they lead a very unhealthy lifestyle, or if they simply have low sperm and testosterone counts.
Clomid can even help treat certain forms of cancer.
In terms of what is Clomid, however, the basic premise is that it serves almost like a factory reset button for your body.
Switching on the natural production of hormones once again, returning them back to how they were before you used steroids.
Now it’s time for us to take a look at a few of the main advantages associated with using Clomid.
Primarily for PCT, though we will include some other non-steroid-related benefits of Clomid use as well.
1. Reduced Risk Of Gyno
One of the worst side-effects of anabolic steroid use is a condition known as gynecomastia.
Gynecomastia is a condition where men grow breast-tissue and develop feminine breasts.
They often find themselves suffering from puffy nipples or fatty deposits located around the nipple area.
In some extreme cases, however, gyno can result in a man literally developing female breasts.
Worst of all is the fact that once you suffer from gyno, no amount of weight loss, bench presses, or push-ups will rectify the issue.
The only way to get rid of gynecomastia is to go under the knife and have invasive surgery.
Clomid when used as part of a PCT program, however, can help to exponentially reduce your risk of developing gynecomastia after a steroid cycle.
2. Restore Testosterone Levels
Another great benefit of using Clomid for PCT purposes is to restore testosterone levels back to normal or to simply switch testosterone production back on in the first place.
You see, when you use steroids, as steroids are synthetic variants of testosterone.
And are often stacked with other forms of testosterone such as testosterone enanthate, test propionate, or testosterone cypionate.
Your testosterone levels in your body are extremely high and are much higher than normal.
Your body senses this and thinks that something is wrong.
Basically, it thinks that it is producing too much testosterone and so it tells the testes to shut down testosterone production.
It is the equivalent of hitting the emergency stop button in a factory when one of the machines is malfunctioning.
The problem is that when you come off your steroid cycle, your body doesn’t always go back to producing testosterone.
Some men, therefore, have to receive testosterone injections from the doctor for the rest of their days.
Clomid, as we looked at above, helps to promote the production of testosterone naturally within the body.
3. Easy To Manage
Another great advantage of using Clomid is the fact that it is so easy to use.
Some drugs have to be taken multiple times per day and have to be injected into the body.
Injections are painful, and they are very awkward to perform by yourself.
If however, you’re looking for PCT, you’ll be pleased to hear that Clomid is actually one of the easiest drugs you could ever wish to take.
It is taken orally so taking it is as simple as swallowing a tablet.
This means that there is no pain or discomfort, and there is virtually no risk of anything going wrong.
As long as you stick to the recommended daily dosage you will experience no adverse side effects at all when using Clomid for PCT purposes.
4. Fewer Side Effects
Steroids, as beneficial as they are, have a reputation for providing a whole host of side effects, which could, in some cases, prove to be fatal.
Steroids can cause high blood pressure, stroke, heart attack, high levels of cholesterol, sweats, acne, hair loss, mood swings, anxiety, stress, depression, and much more besides.
However, Clomid is a very safe drug that presents very few, if any, side effects at all.
Again, when you’re not using legal steroids, and as long as you use the drug as instructed, and never exceed the recommended daily dosage you will find that there are very few side effects associated with Clomid at all.
5. Fertility Issues Treatment
This next benefit has nothing to do with anabolic steroid use, but we’re including it anyway.
Women are often prescribed Clomid if they are struggling to have a child and conceive.
Even men can be prescribed Clomid to assist with fertility issues as it can help boost testosterone productions, and testosterone does play a key role in a man’s fertility.
If you are struggling to start a family and are not sure where you could be going wrong, Clomid could potentially be the answer.
Clomid Side Effects:
As we just mentioned above, Clomid provides very few side effects, which is why it has a reputation as being one of the safest drugs on the market.
It is not perfect, however, and some users have therefore experienced a few negative side effects which did need addressing sooner rather than later.
When talking about steroids, the side effects listed are very serious and could potentially be fatal.
The side effects were about to look at today, however, are very minor in comparison.
1. Causes A headache
One of the most common side effects of Clomid is that users do sometimes experience a mild headache, which can get progressively worse if dehydration has set in.
To help counter this, be sure to drink plenty of water and consider an anti-inflammatory pain-relieving medicine if a headache does continue to persist.
2. Causes Diarrhea
Diarrhea is another common side effect of Clomid use, and this is again something that you will ideally want to avoid.
Not everybody that uses Clomid will suffer from Diarrhoea, but those that do will certainly be looking for a solution.
You can use medicines designed specifically to treat diarrhea, as well as making smart dietary choices.
3. Causes Nausea
Nausea is a side effect associated with Clomid that will not affect everybody.
Some users can use the drug and experience no ill-effects at all.
Others, however, may indeed suffer from nausea, and in extreme cases, vomiting as well.
Now it’s time for us to take a look at the dosages you should follow if you utilize Clomid.
If used for medical purposes, Clomid should be used for 5 days and should be consumed at dosages of 50mg per day.
In terms of what is Clomid PCT, however, if you use Clomid after a steroid cycle for PCT, the exact dosages will depend on which steroids you happen to have used in the first place.
Typically, during a moderate steroid cycle, Clomid should be consumed in dosages of 50mg – 100mg per day, for 4 weeks.
