What’s up guys and gals.
Thanks for stopping by once again.
Today we’re talking about something a little bit different.
Instead of focussing on anabolic steroids and building muscle in general, we’re instead going to be looking at Clomid vs Nolvadex and will be focussing on PCT.
PCT, or Post Cycle Therapy, is something that very few bodybuilders take into consideration, and that is a real shame.
This lack of care and consideration is, unfortunately, costing them their health and their well-being for a number of reasons.
Some have even been unfortunate enough to sadly lose their lives.
Yes, PCT really is that important, and we’ll be looking at why in just a few moments.
We know that steroids are dangerous, as do steroid users, but they choose to use them anyways.
If used correctly, steroids can really do wonders for a person’s physique, as well as their overall strength levels, and athletic performance.
Though frowned upon, it can’t be denied that steroids are extremely impressive for anybody looking to bulk up, build muscle, burn fat, and transform their physique.
If the correct PCT cycle is utilized following a steroid cycle however, the risks associated with using these dangerous compounds can be greatly reduced.
This brings us to Clomid vs Nolvadex and it is what we’re going to be focussing on in today’s article.
So, put your feet up, finish your chicken and brown rice, and let’s take a look at all things PCT-related.

Before we start looking at PCT, Clomid, Nolva, and steroid use in general, we first need to tell you our thoughts on steroid use.
Steroids are extremely dangerous, and they have been fatal numerous times in the past. Even when used correctly, the risks are still enormous.
With that said, we can’t, with a good conscience, condone nor recommend their use.
What Is Clomid?
To begin with, we’re going to start by taking a look at what Clomid is.
Clomid, also known as Clomiphene Citrate, is a Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulator, or SERM for short.
SERMs, not to be confused with SARMs, are widely used in the shady world of steroid use, by huge meatheads looking to minimize the risks, dangers, and side-effects of anabolic-androgenic steroid (AAS) usage.
Clomid however, was not initially designed to be used by enormous bodybuilders looking to minimize their chances of suffering from gyno, aka man boobs.
No, Clomid was initially created as a fertility drug for females.
The drug, when taken by women, will help to induce ovulation.
This is achievable due to the fact that Clomid boosts the amounts of FSH (Follicle Stimulating Hormone) in the body, as well as LH, or luteinizing hormone, which plays a key role in the regulation of a woman’s menstrual cycle.
So, you’re probably wondering how a drug aimed specifically at women struggling to get pregnant, can help a large bodybuilder after he finishes chasing his gains and ends the current steroid cycle that he is running.
Well, while there’s a lot of science, chemistry, and biology involved, to cut right to the chase, when men take Clomid, it helps to naturally promote an increase in testosterone production.
Again, this is thanks to an increase in LH and FSH.
As it is a SERM, Clomid is also very useful for men worried about estrogenic side effects, as it provides anti-Estrogen properties.
Estrogenic side effects occur in steroid users, when the steroids being utilized, along with existing testosterone in the body aromatize and find themselves being converted into Estrogen.
Clomid basically helps to prevent this from happening.
What Is Nolvadex?
Up next we’re going to be taking a look at what Nolvadex is.
Nolvadex, or Tamoxifen Citrate, as it is also known, is another SERM.
Nolvadex and Clomid go together like salt and pepper.
Normally when you find one being utilized as a part of a PCT cycle, the other won’t be too far behind. It too was initially designed to help treat women, though Nolvadex was created to help treat women suffering from breast cancer.
It too, however, is also utilized to help treat infertility in women.
Nolvadex works differently to Clomid of course, in that it stimulates the production of gonadotropins via hypophysis.
Once gonadotropins have been produced and secreted, they too increase the total levels of LH and FSH found in the human body.
In the end, however, both drugs still produce the same results.
As they too bind to Estrogen receptors and keep them occupied, for lack of a better word, reducing the overall levels of estrogenic activity within the body.
For a bodybuilder, this is extremely important.
Why Is PCT So Important After A Steroid Cycle?
So, now that we’ve looked at Clomid and Nolvadex, and have established that they both play important roles in reducing estrogenic activity and aromatization within the body.
It’s now time for us to take a look at why PCT after a steroid cycle is so important?
We’re going to look at the side effects of steroid use in a little while, but for now, we’ll focus on why PCT is required in general.
Basically, when you use anabolic steroids, you are changing your entire genetic makeup.
It’s like buying a regular family saloon car from the dealership, taking it home, stripping out the engine and modifying it with a supercharged v12 turbo engine and countless other modifications.
This car was not designed for that type of power, and although initially, it would be extremely fast and powerful, after a while.
All of the car’s regular parts would suffer and it would begin to break down.
That is basically what happens to your body on steroids.
Now, if you were to replace the supercharged turbo engine and all of the other mods with the car’s initial parts that it had to begin with, that’s essentially what PCT aims to do to your body.
PCT is like hitting the factory reset button on your computer or smartphone.
PCT helps to ensure your organs and hormones work correctly and are regulated as they should be.
It also helps to ensure that you don’t suffer from some typical side effects associated with AAS usage.
Common Side Effects Associated With Steroid Usage:
The importance of PCT is now painfully apparent. But are steroids really as dangerous and potent as some people would have you believe?
Well, in all honesty, they’re probably even worse.
Yes, steroids will get you big and jacked, and they do provide some health benefits in the process.
For the most part, however, they are very powerful, and they should be respected.
A few common side effects associated with steroids include:
1. Gynecomastia or Gyno
If you’ve ever heard a bodybuilder talking about ‘gyno’ this is the condition that they are referring to.
Gynecomastia, or man boobs, or bitch tits, as it is also known, is a condition whereby a man will basically grow and develop breasts, just like a female.
Now, when people think of gyno, they often imagine a man walking around with a ripped physique coupled with a set of cord-cup breasts.
In very, very rare instances, this can occur.
Normally, however, gynecomastia is basically a condition where a man develops fatty deposits around the nipples, causing them to look swollen and puffy.
Gyno is especially bad because it doesn’t go away, no matter how many bench presses and push-ups you perform.
The only way to remove gyno is to undergo surgery and have the fat cut and drained away and have your chest stitched back together after.
Gyno occurs when testosterone in the body aromatizes.
Clomid and Nolvadex therefore, are both extremely beneficial for people looking to avoid gyno.
Acne is another side effect caused by excess estrogen in the body, and it too can be avoided when and if you choose to run a PCT cycle after your steroid cycle has ended.
Acne in steroid users can be very severe, especially if you are already prone to spots and blemishes, to begin with.
While acne is not life-threatening, it can damage your overall quality of life and leave you feeling self-conscious about your appearance.
This is quite ironic in itself, in that many men choose to take up bodybuilding to improve their appearance to boost their self-confidence.
Clomid and/or Nolvadex can help you to avoid acne after finishing a steroid cycle.
3. Keep Your Gains For Longer
This is another benefit of PCT that is often overlooked.
When people focus on PCT, they tend to look at the fact that it helps to prevent ill-health and negative side effects.
The truth of the matter, however, is that PCT can also help you to hold onto your gains for longer.
When you run a steroid cycle, your intention is likely to build muscle, burn fat, and just look better all around.
As great as steroids are, as soon as you come off them your gains tend to disappear.
Now, if you remain strict with your diet and your training, you can slow down the rate in which you lose muscle and hold onto your gains for longer.
If you slack off and get sloppy however, they quickly vanish.
PCT, as we mentioned earlier in our article, helps to promote an increase in natural testosterone production.
Testosterone is an androgenic hormone with highly anabolic properties.
This means that the more you have in your body, the more muscle you will build, and the more fat you will burn.
Clomid Side Effects:
Even though Clomid is a drug designed to help prevent side effects associated with steroids, unfortunately, there are some side effects associated with this drug as well.
The good news is that these side effects are minimal, and some men may even see them as beneficial.
Providing dosages is not too high (25mg – 100mg) side effects shouldn’t be too severe.
Some men tend to experience high libido, harder erections, and an increased feeling of happiness and wellness.
Women that use this drug will often enjoy more energy than usual.
High dosages, however, can cause mild mood swings and irritability.
Nolvadex Side Effects:
Much like Clomid, Nolvadex also provides different side effects based upon the dosages that they take.
Many users will, therefore, aim to keep Nolvadex dosages at around 40mg max per day.
In high dosages, Nolvadex can also cause mood swings and irritability.
What is worth noting, however, is that if Nolva is used in high dosages alongside other types of steroids such as Deca-Durabolin for example, it can up-regulate progestin receptors.
Progestin-related side effects are therefore possible, and these include things like water retention and gynecomastia.
This is again ironic as Nolvadex is a drug used to avoid these very side effects and to prevent them from occurring.
Clomid Vs Nolvadex: What Are The Differences?
So, which is better?
Well, in truth, neither drug is better because it all depends on which steroids you use, which cycle you run, what dosages you run, and how long you use them.
Some steroid cycles only require Clomid for PCT.
Others only require Nolvadex for PCT.
